Comprehensive Ibn Sina bibliography published
Iran University Press released a new comprehensive bibliography of works written by and on Avicenna (Ibn Sina) in English.

Compiled by Ramin Khanbagi, the book is made of two main chapters respectively on Avicenna's works and Works on Ibn Sina as well as Book and Name indexes.

Ibn Sina known as Avicenne (French) and Avicenna (English and German) is world-known for his scientific and medical achievements. As stated in the preface, Ibn Sina has had a deep influence on the West when two of his important books "The Canon" and "The Healing" were introduced to Europe during the first Renaissance. "The Canon was first fully translated into Latin, between 1150-1187 by Gerard de Cremona, though close to eighty renderings of it has been done partially."

In this volume Khanbagi offers an enlarged and updated bibliography of Avicenna literature found in the west. The first chapter titled "IbnSina (Avicenna)'s Works" offers 326 records of his texts translated into different languages of the world from the 15th to the 21st century. The second chapter titled "Works on IbnSina" that also forms the main body of the book offers 2342 records of all works written about Avicenna throughout the academic and non-academic world and in different languages. This is followed with an alphabetic order of Book Index providing the titles and information of all volumes cited in this book. The last part is the Name Index.

The first issue of "Ibn Sina: a comprehensive bibliography completely revised and enlarged" is penned by Ramin Khanbagi and published by Iran University Press in 500 copies and 600 pages.
