Dr Aghayani Chavoshi, professor of the history of science and philosophy of mathematics at Sharif University of Technology who has long worked on the revival of ancient Iranian heritage, is compiling a collection of researches on Avicenna in a single volume.
Referring
to his newly published book “Ketab al-Najara” about Abolvajaye Bouzejani, Dr
Jafar Aghayani Chavoshi regarded Avicenna as a well-known Iranian thinker with
considerable works.
He
then mentioned that there are already fine researches undertaken on this
scholar both in Persian and French, and added: “For the completion of a volume
about this Iranian scholar, I have asked a number of researchers to write
separate articles and meanwhile I tend to translate a selection of articles
from Persian into English and French.”
Author
of ‘Famous Islamic Chemists’ then reprimanded the current wrong assumption that
Islamic sciences equal Arabic sciences. This means negligence of Iranian
thinkers’ stance and credit and considered his research as a step towards
correction of this wrong assumption.
He
finally stated that his correction of Abolvafaye Bouzejani’s “Ketab al-Najara”
is another step towards introducing Iranian thinkers of the world of Islam. He
has edited this text in terms of linguistics, semantics and mathematical system.
