Philosophical thoughts of the two Iranian philosophers Avicenna and Mulla Sadra will be investigated at a forum to be jointly held by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) and Tunisia’s Supreme Council of Culture in October.
According
to IQNA’s ICRO branch, the forum was planned at a meeting with the particpation
of Muhammad Reza Dehshiri, ICRO’s research and education deputy and Hicham
Djaīt, head of the council (Beit-al-Hikmah) in Tunisia.
The
Tunisian official regarded the revolution in his country as an appropriate
opportunity for boosting and deepening mutual cultural relations between Iran
and Tunisia, saying that: “Taking into account the role of Iranian scholars,
such as Avicenna and Mulla Sadra, in developing Islamic thought and
civilization, Muslims need to study the history of Iranian civilization before
and after the advent of Islam.”
Elaborating
on activities and responsibilities of Beit-al-Hikmah, he noted that the status
of the council has been promoted after the revolution in Tunisia.
He
said that valuable experiences gained by Iran's Supreme Council of Cultural
Revolution will be useful for the Tunisian council and added that: “We believe
that Iranian Cultural Center in Tunisia and ICRO can pave the way for
exchanging the experiences.”
Welcoming
the suggestions made by the Tunisian official, Dehshiri, Iranian
representative, then introduced the potentials of ICRO’s research deputy and
said that the organization is ready to cooperate with the council.
Titled
“Tatawwor Al-Falsafah Al-Islamiyyah fi Fikr Ibn Sina and Mulla Sadra”
(Development of Islamic Philosophy in Thought of Avicenna and Mulla Sadra), the
forum will be held with the participation of scientific and academic figures
from Tunisia, Iran and some other countries.
