Iranian institute to pay tribute to Avicenna

The Research Institute of the Wisdom and Philosophy of Iran plans to honor Iranian Muslim physician and philosopher Avicenna (980–1037 CE) during a session to be held in Tehran on August 21.

 

 

The institute is located on No. 6 Arklian St., off of Neauphle-le-Chateau St.

 

 Iranians commemorate Avicenna every year on August 23, which is the nation’s Physicians Day.

 

 Iranian Academy of Art to honor veteran architect

 

 TEHRAN -- The Iranian Academy of Art is to honor traditional architect Ali-Asghar Sharbaf during a ceremony to introduce the book “A Selection of Master Asghar Sharbaf”, which is to be held in Tehran on August 20.

 

 Sharbaf, 75, is an expert in latticework, stalactite work, and many other techniques of traditional Iranian architecture.
