World renowned Iranian architect and sculptor died in Vancouver, Canada, at the age of 94 on Monday.
Houshang
Seyhoun was born on August 22, 1920 in a family of art. His grandfather Mirza
Abdullah Farahani was one of the greatest musicians in contemporary Iran.
In
1949 he received his Ph.D. in Art from Paris.
Among
his masterpieces of architecture are mausoleums of Iranian great epic poet
Ferdowsi, great mathematician and poet Omar Khayyam, great painter
Kamal-o-molk, philosopher Avicenna and many other noticeable architectural
buildings.
He
also was a painter, sculptor, musician, scholar headed Faculty of Arts in
Tehran University for many years.
