IBNA-On the occasion of World Philosophy Day, a webinar on Avicenna's Philosophy Studies in the West will be held in Tehran tomorrow.
The
event is held on the proposal of Foundation for Dialogue and Friendship of
Nations, in cooperation with the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies in
University of Tehran.
Dimitri
Gutas, Professor of Arabic and Graeco-Arabic from Yale University and Nadia
Maftouni, Professor of Islamic Philosophy, Faculty of Theology and Islamic
Studies in University of Tehran, will deliver lecture at the webinar.
The
program is slated for tomorrow (Thursday, November 20) at 18:30 in English.

World
Philosophy Day is an international day proclaimed by UNESCO to be celebrated
every 3rd Thursday of November. It was first celebrated on 21 November 2002.
By
celebrating World Philosophy Day each year, on the third Thursday of November,
UNESCO underlines the enduring value of philosophy for the development of human
thought, for each culture and for each individual.
