Avicenna’s thinking reflected in Shi’i Studies Journal

The new issue of Shi’i Studies Journal has been released by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization of Iran in New York.

 

 

According to the public relations office and information center of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the journal is released in the US, jointly with the Global Scholarly Publication, a non-profit cultural institute.

 

The issue encompasses in-depth articles about Avicenna’s thinking regarding the universe and creation.

 

The journal is aimed at introduction and reflection of the true face of Islam and Shi’ism to the academic and cultural society of the US.

 

The Essence of Unity (Tawḥīd) by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (The Honorable Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Issues Concerning the Life of the Twelfth Holy Imām (A.S.) by Mahdī hadavi Tehrani (Qom, Islamic Seminary), Revelation and Salvation—Towards an Islamic View of History by Mahmoud Ayoub (Hartford Seminary, Temple University), The Context of Creation (Khalq) in Shī‘a Cosmogony by Parviz Morewedge (SUNY, Old Westbury; GSP), The Ayatollah Khamenei’s Fatwa as the Basis of IRI’s Prohibition on the Use of WMD by Mohsen Eslami (Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran), A Comparison of the Cosmologies of Aquinas, Ibn Sīnā and the Shi‘ite Doctrine of Creation and Emanation by Edward Macierowski (Benedictine College, Kansas), and The Sacred Memory of Intersection of Faith and Sincerity in the Life and Governance of ‘Alī b. AbīṬālib by Habibeh Rahim (St. John’s University, Jamaica, NY) are the articles included in the issue.
