Caretaker of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology Jafar Towfighi has claimed that Iranian researchers and authors are able to produce works like Avicenna’s ‘The Canon of Medicine’.
Speaking
on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the second Knowledge Dissemination
Week, Towfighi underlined the great scientific advances made by Iranian experts
in recent years, and asserted that a thorough needs analysis of the recurring
issues should be completed so that such works are created.
“A book is useful only when it has been created with clearly
defined aims and needs,” he added.
He
further called on writers to acquire a reasonable grasp of experiences by other
researchers and writers in their field in the world.
The
week of knowledge dissemination in Iran has started and will continue until
October 31.
Jafar
Towfighi Darian is an Iranian chemical engineer, academic and politician who
has been serving as acting minister of science, research and technology since
17 August 2013.
