Zia Movahed has prepared the fifth collection of his poems and a collection of articles on Islamic Logic for publication. The fifth book of poems is themed on social and emotional subject matters.
Movahed
said: "I have not come up with a title for this collection yet and
although it is ready for publication, I have not signed any contract due to
current print industry problems."
He
added: "This book includes a selection of poems on social and emotional
subjects many of which have been released at the end of 'Blue Songs' and the
book published by Morvarid."
Movahed
also announced the completion of an article collection themed on Islamic Logic;
"This collection contains four English articles on logic according to
Avicenna and Suhrevardi accompanied with their Persian versions."
He
added that this title, too, is not titled yet but is going to be published by
Hermes.
Zia
Movahed was born in 1942 in Isfahan. He holds an MA degree in Physics from the
University of Tehran and a PhD degree in Philosophy.
"A Fistful of Cold Light" (Aknoon, 2001), "White
Ravens" (Niloofar, 1990), "Over Lotus Waters" (Agah, 1975),
"Poetry and Knowledge" (literary articles, Morvarid),
"Saadi" (Tarhe No), "Persian Poetry Yesterday and Today",
and "Blue Songs" are some of his books.
Movahed
is also the translator of "The Cultural Critics" and "The Theory
of Literature by Rene Wellek.
Movahed
won the 2001 Book of the Year Award of Iran for his poetry collection "A
Fistful of Cold Light" and the 1995 Book of the Year Award for his
translation of "The Theory of Literature".
