The two-day Avicenna and Islamic Philosophers conference will be held by Sadra Islamic Wisdom Foundation.
In
an interview with IBNA, scientific secretary of the foundation, Ghasem
Purhassan, said the event is arranged to be held for two days beginning on
Tuesday, October 18, 2011.
The
conference is being held in line with Farabi conferences which were previously
arranged by the foundation. Islamic philosophers after Farabi until the year of
550 hg. will be considered in the conference, he added.
"From Farabi to Avicenna", "Avicenna" and
"from Avicenna to Sohrevardi" are the three parts of the conference,
Purhassan said. Mysticism, Sufism and philosophy will be discussed in the
gathering.
He
went on to say that so far 65 research abstracts have been submitted to the
secretariat of the conference that will accept works until September 22.
Gholamhussein
Ebrahimi Dinani, Reza Davari Ardakani, Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Khamenei,
Yahya Yasrebi, Gholamreza Avani and Hujatoleslam Mostafa Mohaghegh Damad are
the keynote speakers of the conference, he further added.
Slated
to be held on October 18 and 19, the Avicenna and Islamic Philosophers
conference will be held in one of the conference halls of the labor ministry.
